from 61 reviewsWhat wonderful memories this book brings out. Needed that right now.
I just finished volume 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's obvious that Eric loves listening to and talking about music. His comments about various artists and contributors are peppered throughout the book. I wish I'd gone to more concerts in the 70's. I'm looking forward to starting the second book tonight.
If Eric is ever doing a book reading and signing near you, please go. He's a natural story teller and loves sharing the stories with as many people as possible.
Greay book!
Very entertaining book that brings the music-loving fan back to legendary concert days. Numerous stories of some epic moments in concert history.
I have the honor of serving as a hospice volunteer. While it can be difficult and trying, it is also one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
I am currently spending time with a patient who is on the final journey of his life. He is often alert, engaged, and a major baseball fan. Naturally, I wanted to share Eric Gray’s latest book, Bases to Bleachers, with him. As I began reading, long forgotten memories were recalled, experiences he had not thought about for decades. Through the pages of the book, he was reliving parts of his life.
That is one of the many gifts the book offers: an opportunity to relive special times with friends and family, or to recall solitary moments that seemed to have slipped away. One doesn't even need to particularly enjoy baseball or understand its finer points to appreciate it; they just need a desire to explore their past and look toward the future.
This and other collections by Eric are truly wonderful!
Best regards,
Bill Cecil

I really enjoyed reading the concert experiences from other music fans! This collection of stories brought smiles to my face as well as tears. I have enjoyed Mr. Gray’s other books as well! I hope there are more books in the works!
Eric captures some great stories here. Great read.
As with Volume 1 of Music We Heard Along the Way by Eric. C. Gray, Volume 2 is a thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and diverse collection of essays about music and the experiences it provides. From the first lines of quotes by John Lennon and Richard Rogers, it is hard to put down.
Such a great compilation of so many peoples' observations, experiences and passion for music of all sorts. And a great job of putting it all together. Congratulations on a super job to Eric and Lynn.
I read 160 pages of it today! Great job, Eric!!
Just as he did with his two-volume baseball books, Eric Gray now brings evocative tales of music's impact on people in a range of venues and life experiences. Sometimes humorous, sometimes infused with human pathos, these stories reverberate with the message that music has touched all of our spirits.
Eric is an amazing curator of high-light stories. The collection in this Volume is a community of every day souls whose lives are joined by the love of meaningful musical experiences.
